Mmp-7 Expression

MMP-7 expression refers to the production and regulation of matrix metalloproteinase-7, a zinc-dependent enzyme that remodels extracellular matrix and influences tissue behavior in health and disease. Transcriptional signals can increase MMP-7 in epithelial and inflammatory settings; the enzyme is synthesized as an inactive precursor, then activated and released to cleave extracellular-matrix components and selected cell-signaling proteins. In medicine, measuring MMP-7 expression in tissues or biological samples can help investigate tumor invasion, fibrosis, inflammation, and tissue repair. Its regulation also provides a framework for studying disease mechanisms and evaluating potential diagnostic or therapeutic strategies.

2010

SNAP-tag and CLIP-tag protein labeling systems enable the specific, covalent attachment of molecules, including fluorescent dyes, to a protein of interest in live cells. Once cloned and expressed, the tagged protein can be used with a variety of substrates for numerous downstream applications without having to clone again.
