Virtual Specimen Record

A Virtual Specimen Record is a digital representation of a biological or clinical specimen that preserves its visual features, descriptive information, and associated medical data for access beyond the physical sample. It works by capturing or linking specimen images, measurements, identifiers, collection details, and annotations in a structured record that can be stored, retrieved, reviewed, and shared electronically. In medicine, virtual specimen records support pathology education, laboratory documentation, research, and remote consultation while reducing dependence on repeated handling of fragile specimens. They also improve traceability and enable consistent comparison of cases across learners, clinicians, and research teams.

Virtual Work

2023

The principle of virtual work states that if a body is in static and dynamic equilibrium, then the sum of all the virtual work done by all external forces and couple moments for any given virtual displacement must be zero. In static equilibrium, a body can experience an imaginary or virtual movement, such as displacement or rotation. The virtual work done by a force is equal to the dot product of force and virtual displacement in the direction of the force. When it comes to virtually rotating a...
