The adjuvant-induced arthritis mouse model provides a reproducible system for studying inflammatory pathways in rheumatoid arthritis, enabling target validation through immune-mediated joint inflammation. This model supports mechanistic de-risking by elucidating macrophage and neutrophil contributions to synovial hyperplasia and cartilage damage, informing early-stage therapeutic hypothesis testing. Its quantitative arthritis scoring criterion facilitates preclinical evaluation of anti-inflammatory compounds, improving predictive confidence in lead identification.
The model integrates into the discovery continuum from target validation through lead identification to preclinical efficacy testing, supported by its capacity to generate quantifiable inflammatory phenotypes.
