Establishing an in vitro cerebral organoid model of Zika virus infection enables early-stage interrogation of viral impact on neural progenitor cells, directly informing target validation and mechanistic de-risking in neurovirology pipelines. This system provides predictive confidence for translational research by recapitulating disease-relevant cellular responses and morphological disruptions observed in human pathology. The model supports portfolio decisions by enabling quantitative assessment of viral effects on neural development.
This organoid-based infection model bridges early discovery and preclinical research, supporting lead identification and mechanistic studies in neurovirology.
