Summary
Bioquímico estadounidense Roger Tsien compartieron el Premio Nobel 2008 en Química con Martin Chalfie y Osamu Shimomura para su descubrimiento y desarrollo de la proteína verde fluorescente (GFP). Tsien mejorado dramáticamente la GFP de tipo salvaje que resulta en un aumento de fluorescencia, fotoestabilidad mayor, y un cambio en el pico de excitación mayor a 488 nm (correspondiente FITC).
