Leakage Testing Protocol

A Leakage Testing Protocol is a standardized procedure for detecting and quantifying unintended fluid or gas escape from a device, component, or sealed system, supporting safety and performance in bioengineering. The method typically applies a controlled pressure or vacuum to the system, isolates it, and measures pressure decay, flow loss, or visible bubble formation over a defined interval. Engineers use leakage testing to evaluate seals, tubing, microfluidic channels, catheters, bioreactors, and other biomedical equipment before use or during quality control. Reliable results help identify manufacturing defects, verify design integrity, reduce contamination risks, and support compliance with performance requirements.

A Battery of Quantitative Binocular Vision Tests for Adults: Testing Protocols

2026

Here we present a comprehensive battery of tasks to assess binocular vision. Tasks include peripheral stereoacuity and motion-in-depth, which are not assessed by current clinical tests. Incorporating these tasks will provide an in-depth assessment of an individual’s binocularity.

A robust and flexible approach to confirm herbicide resistance in weed populations is presented. This protocol allows the herbicide resistance levels to be inferred and applied to a wide range of weed species and herbicides with minor adaptations.

Fluorescence Leakage Assay to Study Cell-Penetrating Peptide Interaction with Membrane

2025

This video discusses the fluorescence leakage assay to study the interactions of cell-penetrating peptides with cell membranes using cell membrane mimics — large unilamellar vesicles, or LUVs, encapsulated with a fluorescent dye and a quencher.
