Cd34 Antibody

A CD34 antibody is an immunological reagent that specifically binds CD34, a cell-surface glycoprotein associated with hematopoietic stem and progenitor cells and also expressed by certain endothelial and other cell populations. By recognizing an epitope on CD34, the antibody can label target cells for detection, measurement, or isolation using flow cytometry, immunohistochemistry, or antibody-based magnetic separation. In biology, CD34 antibodies help characterize stem and progenitor cell populations, assess tissue and blood samples, and support the enrichment of cells for research on hematopoiesis, vascular biology, transplantation, and regenerative medicine. Results depend on antibody clone, sample preparation, and detection method.

Overview Antibodies, also known as immunoglobulins (Ig), are essential players of the adaptive immune system. These antigen-binding proteins are produced by B cells and make up 20 percent of the total blood plasma by weight. In mammals, antibodies fall into five different classes, which each elicits a different biological response upon antigen binding. The Y-Shaped Structure of Antibodies Consists of Four Polypeptide Chains Antibodies consist of four polypeptide chains: two identical heavy...

A method is described with visual accompaniment for conducting scalable, high throughput selections from phage-displayed combinatorial synthetic antibody libraries against hundreds of antigens simultaneously. Using this parallel approach, we have isolated antibody fragments that exhibit high affinity and specificity for diverse antigens that are functional in standard immunoassays.

This study has established a stable and efficient method for the isolation, culture, and functional determination of vascular wall-resident CD34+ stem cells (CD34+ VW-SCs). This easy-to-follow and time-effective isolation method can be utilized by other investigators to study the potential mechanisms involved in cardiovascular diseases.
