Fep Powder Coating

FEP powder coating is a protective fluoropolymer finish made from fluorinated ethylene propylene (FEP), valued for its chemical resistance, low surface energy, and stable performance in demanding laboratory and industrial environments. Applied as dry particles, the coating is deposited onto a prepared surface and heated until the particles melt, flow, and fuse into a continuous, nonporous film. In biology, FEP-coated components can help protect instruments, containers, and fluid-handling hardware from corrosive reagents while reducing adhesion and simplifying cleaning. These properties support reliable sample processing, cell-related workflows, and equipment longevity where contamination control and material compatibility are important.

Source: Tamara M. Powers, Department of Chemistry, Texas A&M University X-ray crystallography is a technique that uses X-rays to study the structure of molecules. X-ray diffraction (XRD) experiments are routinely carried out with either single-crystal or powdered samples. Single-crystal XRD: Single-crystal XRD allows for absolute structure determination. With single-crystal XRD data, the exact atomic positions can be observed, and thus bond lengths and angles can be determined. This...

A Protocol for the Production of Gliadin-cyanoacrylate Nanoparticles for Hydrophilic Coating

2016

This article presents a protocol for the production of protein-based nanoparticles that changes the hydrophobic surface to hydrophilic. The produced nanoparticle is an assembly of gliadin-cyanoacrylate diblock copolymers. Spray coating with the produced nanoparticle changes the surface of target material to a hydrophilic surface.
