Filter Card Processing

Filter card processing is a sample-handling approach that uses a porous card to collect, separate, preserve, or prepare biological material for analysis. A liquid sample is applied to the card, allowing fluid to pass through while cells, particles, nucleic acids, proteins, or other target molecules are retained or immobilized; the dried material can then be eluted, extracted, or analyzed according to the card chemistry and assay requirements. In biology, this approach supports low-volume sampling, field collection, transport, and downstream molecular or biochemical testing. It can simplify workflows, reduce handling and storage demands, and improve access to biological measurements when conventional laboratory processing is limited.

2023

Source: Laboratories of Nicholaus Noles and Judith Danovitch—University of Louisville Infants are born with amazing cognitive resources at their disposal, but they don’t know how to use them effectively. In order to harness the power of their brains, humans must develop high-level cognitive processes that manage basic brain functions. These processes make up what psychologists refer to as executive function. Executive function is a key factor in many self-regulatory behaviors, including forming...

2025

Credit card transactions have become a dominant payment method in many retail environments, offering businesses more than just customer convenience. One key operational advantage is the mitigation of credit risk since payment collection shifts to the credit card issuer rather than the merchant. This arrangement streamlines cash inflows and reduces exposure to defaults and delayed payments.Transaction Costs and Cash Flow ImpactWhen a business accepts credit card payments, it typically pays a...

Passive filters are utilized to shape the frequency spectrum of signals across a diverse array of applications. These filters, using only passive elements like resistors (R), inductors (L), and capacitors (C), are capable of selectively allowing or blocking certain frequency ranges without the need for external power sources. Low-Pass Filters Low-pass filters are designed to transmit signals with frequencies lower than the cutoff frequency, ωc, and attenuate those above it. The cutoff frequency...
