Fura Ff Jc-1

Fura-FF and JC-1 are fluorescent probes used to monitor intracellular calcium levels and mitochondrial membrane potential, respectively, making them valuable tools for studying cellular function and stress. Fura-FF changes its fluorescence upon binding calcium, while JC-1 accumulates in energized mitochondria and shifts from green-emitting monomers to red-emitting aggregates as membrane potential increases. In biology, these indicators support live-cell imaging and quantitative analysis of calcium signaling, mitochondrial activity, apoptosis, and drug-induced cellular injury. Used with fluorescence microscopy or plate-based assays, they help connect changes in cell physiology to disease mechanisms and experimental treatments.

Calcium signals play a key role in many cellular processes including gene expression, survival and differentiation. Here we demonstrate how to perform calcium imaging using Fura-2 AM. Calcium imaging is a valuable tool to study the regulation of intracellular calcium in real time and its regulation of signaling cascades.
