Icp Recording

ICP recording is the measurement of intracranial pressure, the force exerted by brain tissue, cerebrospinal fluid, and blood within the skull. In practice, a ventricular catheter or intraparenchymal pressure sensor detects pressure changes and transmits them to a transducer, producing continuous waveforms and numerical readings. In biology and neuroscience, these recordings help researchers and clinicians study cerebrovascular regulation, brain injury, hydrocephalus, hemorrhage, and cerebral edema. Monitoring ICP also provides insight into cerebral perfusion and the effects of experimental or therapeutic interventions, supporting early detection of harmful pressure elevations and improving understanding of brain physiology.

Inductively Coupled Plasma-Mass Spectrometry (ICP-MS): Interferences

2024

Inductively coupled plasma–mass spectrometry (ICP–MS) is a highly selective and sensitive technique for accurate elemental analysis. Though the analysis of ICP–MS mass spectra is comparatively straightforward, it is affected by spectroscopic and non-spectroscopic interferences. Spectroscopic interferences arise when the plasma contains ionic species with an m/z value the same as the analyte ion. Spectroscopic interference can be categorized as isobaric, polyatomic ions, and refractory oxide ion...

Inductively Coupled Plasma–Mass Spectrometry (ICP–MS): Overview

2024

In inductively coupled plasma–mass spectrometry (ICP–MS), an inductively coupled plasma (ICP) torch is used as an atomizer and ionizer. Solid samples are dissolved and volatilized before being introduced into the high-temperature argon plasma, while solution samples are nebulized and passed through the high-temperature argon plasma. Plasma dissociates the analytes and ionizes their component atoms to form a mixture of positive ions and molecular species. The positive ions are then passed on to...

2016

Size exclusion chromatography hyphenated with inductively coupled plasma - mass spectrometry (ICP-MS) is a powerful tool to measure changes in the abundance of metalloproteins directly from biological samples. Here we describe a set of metalloprotein standards used to estimate molecular mass and the amount of metal associated with unknown proteins.

Electroencephalography-Based Recording Technique to Record the Epileptiform Activity

2025

This video describes the technique for recording the epileptiform activity of rhinal cortex-hippocampus organotypic slices ex vivo using electrophysiology or EEG set-up. This helps to study the dynamics and progression of epileptogenesis and screen potential therapeutic targets to treat epilepsy.

Data Reporting and Recording

Reporting and recording are crucial in data documentation. The timely, thorough, and accurate documentation of facts is essential when recording patient data. Failure to record findings during an assessment or interpretation of a problem will result in loss of information and make the patient document unreliable. The reader is left with general impressions if the information is not specific. A recording is documenting data of the individual's health information in a traceable, secure, and...
