Raw Meat Testing

Raw meat testing is the systematic examination of meat samples for microorganisms, contaminants, and quality indicators that can affect food safety and biological health. Testing typically involves aseptic sampling and sample homogenization, followed by culture-based methods that grow viable organisms or molecular assays such as PCR that detect pathogen-specific genetic material; chemical and sensory analyses can provide additional evidence of spoilage or contamination. In biology and food science, these methods help identify hazards including Salmonella and pathogenic Escherichia coli, verify processing and hygiene controls, monitor shelf life, and support regulatory decisions. Reliable testing reduces foodborne disease risk and strengthens surveillance across meat production systems.

Microorganisms such as Escherichia coli that contaminate meat products cause foodborne illnesses. The use of essential oils in the meat drying process has not been deeply studied. Here, we present a novel method of applying thyme essential oil to meat during drying to reduce the microbial load in dried meat.

2023

Anxiety is a commonly observed behavioral disorder that stems from fear. It is described as increased restlessness, or unpleasant feelings of fear over anticipated events. Experimenters often use rodent models to better understand anxiety disorders in humans. They use different paradigms, like exposing rodents to bright spaces or loud sounds, which are known to induce fear. These tests combined with other interventions such as surgery or drug-administration may assist researchers in pinpointing...
