Tracer Molecule Circulation

Tracer molecule circulation is the movement of labeled molecules through an organism’s circulatory system to reveal how substances are transported, distributed, and cleared. A tracer is introduced into the bloodstream, where its chemical or radioactive label allows researchers to follow its path as blood flow carries it between organs and tissues; measurements of signal intensity over time can indicate concentration and movement. In biology, this approach helps investigate circulation, molecular transport, tissue uptake, and clearance rates. It also supports studies of metabolism, drug distribution, and physiological changes by linking molecular behavior with organ function.
