Peak Plasma Level

Peak plasma level is the highest concentration of a drug measured in blood plasma after a dose, making it a key pharmacokinetic indicator of systemic exposure. It occurs when the rate of drug absorption into the circulation equals the rate of elimination, and its timing depends on factors such as formulation, route of administration, absorption, and clearance. In clinical research, peak plasma level helps characterize drug behavior, compare formulations, guide dose selection, and assess whether concentrations may reach therapeutic or toxic ranges. Together with time to peak and total exposure, it supports safer, more effective medication use.

Factors Affecting Renal Clearance: Drug's Physicochemical Properties and Plasma Levels

2025

Renal clearance of a drug is influenced by various factors, including its physicochemical properties and plasma levels. These factors play a significant role in determining how efficiently the kidneys eliminate a drug. One important factor is the drug's molecular size. The kidneys readily excrete smaller molecules below 300 Daltons (Da). On the other hand, molecules weighing between 300 and 500 Da are excreted through both urine and bile. Larger molecules above 500 Da tend to be excreted less...

An experimental setup was created for the helium-operated kHz frequency plasma jet. The setup includes a cage for the plasma power supply and jet and an in-house built reactor to monitor plasma-induced reactive species without the interference of the ambient atmosphere.

IR Spectrum Peak Intensity: Dipole Moment

2024

The dipole moment of a bond is the product of the partial charge on either atom and the distance between them. Dipole moments influence the efficiency of IR absorption and the peak intensity. When a bond with a dipole moment is placed in an electric field, the direction of the field determines if the bond is compressed or stretched. Electromagnetic radiation consists of an electric field component that rapidly reverses direction. It follows that polar bonds are alternately stretched and...
