Single Specimen Dna

Single specimen DNA analysis is the examination of genetic material obtained from one biological specimen, enabling researchers to characterize an individual sample without combining it with material from other sources. The process typically involves isolating DNA, amplifying selected regions through polymerase chain reaction, and analyzing sequence or genetic variation with methods such as genotyping or sequencing. In genetics, this approach supports identification, inheritance studies, mutation detection, and the analysis of limited or rare samples. By preserving specimen-specific information, single-specimen analysis can improve the resolution of genetic comparisons and help connect molecular findings to biological traits or research questions.
