Pannexin 1 Inhibitor

Pannexin 1 Inhibitor is a compound or experimental agent that reduces the activity of pannexin 1, a membrane channel involved in extracellular signaling and relevant to immune and infectious processes. By limiting pannexin 1 channel opening, these inhibitors can decrease the passage of signaling molecules such as ATP from cells into the extracellular environment, helping researchers test how purinergic communication shapes inflammation and host responses. In immunology and infection research, they are used as pharmacological tools to distinguish pannexin 1-dependent effects, assess inflammatory pathways, and evaluate whether modulating this channel could influence disease mechanisms or therapeutic strategies.

2024

This study illustrates the methodological potential of combining Yttrium-90 Trans-Arterial Radioembolization (Y-90 TARE) with an anti-PD-1 monoclonal antibody as an effective neoadjuvant strategy leading to hepatectomy in hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) patients with a high initial recurrence risk. It emphasizes the safety, feasibility, and step-by-step procedural guidance of this approach.

Eukaryotic Transcription Inhibitors

2020

Certain biochemical processes, such as embryonic development and cell growth regulation, depend on the repression of specific genes. DNA binding proteins known as eukaryotic transcription inhibitors regulate the repression of gene expression in eukaryotes. The presence of these inhibitors at the required location and time in the cell is triggered by the presence of hormones and additional signals from other cells. Eukaryotic transcription inhibitors usually contain two distinct domains, a DNA...

Identifying PD-1/PD-L1 Inhibitors with Surface Plasmon Resonance Technology

2025

This protocol describes a blockade assay for PD-1/PD-L1 inhibitors using surface plasmon resonance technology. It employs a dual-step immobilization strategy and a tailored buffer system to accurately measure response units, facilitating the assessment of blockade rates for compounds or biologics. Additionally, it supports the high-throughput identification of PD-1/PD-L1 inhibitors.

Modelling Intratumoral Treatment with miRNA Inhibitors: A Method to Analyze the Effect of miRNA Inhibitors on Tumor Growth in Murine Model

2023

This video demonstrates the in vivo delivery of miRNA inhibitors as therapeutic agents against tumor growth in orthotopic mouse models. The intratumoral administration of synthetic miRNA inhibitors or antagomiRs allows them to bind and inhibit endogenous miRNAs, thereby causing mRNA upregulation and suppression of tumor growth.
