Exam Performance

Exam performance is the demonstrated knowledge, reasoning, and skills a learner applies in an assessment, providing evidence of academic progress and understanding. In information literacy, performance depends partly on the ability to locate relevant sources, evaluate their credibility and evidence, interpret information accurately, and use it to prepare well-supported answers. These processes can help students distinguish reliable material from misinformation, organize complex concepts, and apply evidence appropriately under exam conditions. Studying the relationship between information literacy and exam performance supports more effective learning strategies, strengthens critical thinking, and helps educators design instruction that improves both assessment outcomes and responsible information use.
