Body Fat Percentage

Body fat percentage is the proportion of a person’s total body weight composed of fat, providing a more specific view of body composition than weight or body mass index alone. It is estimated by measuring fat mass and lean mass through methods such as skinfold assessment, bioelectrical impedance, or dual-energy X-ray absorptiometry, each with different sources of error. In medicine, body fat percentage supports nutritional assessment, obesity evaluation, and monitoring of changes during lifestyle or clinical interventions. Interpretation should consider age, sex, muscle mass, hydration, and measurement method because a single value may not fully represent metabolic health or disease risk.

The price elasticity of demand measures the responsiveness of the quantity demanded of a good or service to changes in its price. For instance, consider a family that typically purchases 6 cartons of milk every month when the price is $4 per carton. However, when the price increases to $5 per carton, they reduce their consumption to 5 cartons. The first step to calculate the price elasticity of demand is determining the percentage change in quantity demanded. This can be calculated as (5-6)/6...

A percentage frequency distribution, in general, is a display of data that indicates the percentage of observations for each data point or grouping of data points. It is a commonly used method for expressing the relative frequency of survey responses and other data. The percentage frequency distributions are often displayed as bar graphs, pie charts, or tables. The process of making a percentage frequency distribution involves the following few steps: note the total number of observations;...
