Guided Implant Surgery

Guided implant surgery is a computer-assisted technique for planning and placing dental implants with greater control over their position, angulation, and depth. It combines three-dimensional imaging, such as cone-beam computed tomography, with digital impressions to create a virtual treatment plan and fabricate a surgical guide that directs drilling and implant placement. By transferring the planned implant position to the patient, the approach can support accurate osteotomy preparation, improve prosthetic alignment, and help clinicians account for anatomical structures. Guided workflows are used in restorative and oral surgery to enhance treatment planning, communication, and predictable implant-supported rehabilitation.

2026

Implantation of a totally implantable venous access port (TIVAP) through the subclavian vein under CT guidance is a highly safe and precise method that can effectively reduce the incidence of complications and facilitate early detection of potential complications.

Ultrasound-Guided Implantation: A Technique to Implant Pancreatic Ductal Adenocarcinoma Cells into an Adult Mouse

2023

This video describes the protocol for ultrasound-guided orthotopic implantation of murine-derived pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma cells directly into the pancreas of the mouse. This causes less inflammation at the implantation site compared to surgical procedures.

Implantation Protocol of the Foldable Capsular Vitreous Body for Complex Vitreoretinal Surgery

2026

The Foldable Capsular Vitreous Body (FCVB) is an intraocular implant that encapsulates silicone oil within a flexible capsule to reduce silicone oil-related complications. This protocol describes the surgical implantation of the FCVB via scleral incision for the treatment of complex retinal detachment and ocular trauma.

2015

A method for implanting electrodes into the subthalamic nucleus (STN) of rats is described. Better localization of the STN was achieved by using a microrecording system. Furthermore, a stimulation set-up is presented that is characterized by long-lasting connections between the head of the animal and the stimulator.

The monitoring of extracellular neurotransmitter levels in distinct brain regions of freely moving animals offers insights on the link between neurotransmitter release and behavior. In vivo microdialysis coupled with electrochemical detection provides excellent anatomical and chemical resolution; and information on how basal neurotransmission is altered by pharmacological or physiological manipulations.
