Tissue Culture Expansion

Tissue culture expansion is the controlled growth and multiplication of cells or tissue outside the body, providing sufficient biological material for research and medical use. In a sterile, carefully regulated environment, cultured cells receive nutrient media and appropriate physical and biochemical conditions; researchers periodically transfer them to fresh vessels or media to support continued proliferation while monitoring identity, viability, and function. This process supplies cells for studying disease, testing treatments, and developing regenerative medicine and cell-based therapies. Reliable expansion can improve experimental consistency and help translate laboratory findings into clinically relevant products.

This video demonstrates the process of neurosphere formation and their expansion from hippocampal tissue. Neural stem and progenitor cells from the postnatal mouse dentate gyrus tissue proliferate and form primary neurospheres, which are then reseeded to form secondary neurospheres.

Natural Killer Cell Isolation from Liver Tissue for Selective Expansion

2025

This video demonstrates the isolation of lymphocytes, including natural killer cells or NK cells, from human liver tissue for selective expansion. Enzymatic and mechanical digestion, followed by density gradient separation, promotes lymphocyte isolation, including NK cells. The collected lymphocytes can be further used for the selective expansion of NK cells.
