Medication Response Prediction

Medication response prediction is the use of biological, clinical, and behavioral information to estimate how an individual will respond to a treatment, including its likely benefits and adverse effects. In neuroscience, prediction models can combine genetic variation, brain-related biomarkers, symptoms, medication history, and pharmacokinetic or pharmacodynamic factors to identify patterns associated with treatment response. These approaches support more personalized selection and adjustment of therapies for neurological and psychiatric conditions. They may also improve clinical trial design, clarify mechanisms of drug action, and reduce delays caused by ineffective treatment choices.

VSEPR Theory for Determination of Electron Pair Geometries The following procedure uses VSEPR theory to determine the electron pair geometries and the molecular structures: Write the Lewis structure of the molecule or polyatomic ion. Count the number of electron groups (lone pairs and bonds) around the central atom. A single, double, or triple bond counts as one region of electron density. Identify the electron-pair geometry based on the number of electron groups: linear, trigonal planar,...

This protocol provides step-by-step instructions for generating and troubleshooting human acute lymphoblastic leukemia (ALL) xenografts from cell lines and fresh patient material in transiently immunosuppressed zebrafish embryos, along with guidelines for drug response assessment using flow cytometry. The experimental pipeline can also be adapted for solid tumors.

Inhaled Medications

Inhaled medications are crucial for managing chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) and asthma. They are essential for effective treatment and control, ensuring optimal respiratory health and well-being. Inhaled medication delivers drugs directly to the lungs, providing a rapid onset of action and reducing systemic side effects compared to oral or injectable medications. Three primary types of inhalation devices are used to administer these medications: nebulizers, metered-dose inhalers...
