Pcna Marker Detection

PCNA marker detection is a molecular and histological approach for identifying proliferating cells by measuring proliferating cell nuclear antigen, a nuclear protein involved in DNA replication and repair. Typically, antibodies recognize PCNA in fixed tissue or cultured cells through immunofluorescence, immunohistochemistry, or related assays, producing a signal that reveals cells with elevated PCNA expression. In neuroscience, this method helps assess neural progenitor activity, adult neurogenesis, and glial proliferation during development, learning, or after injury. Because PCNA can also increase during DNA repair, researchers often interpret its distribution alongside additional proliferation markers and cellular context.

2017

This study implemented whole genome sequencing for analysis of mutations in genes conferring antifungal drug resistance in Candida glabrata. C. glabrata isolates resistant to echinocandins, azoles and 5-flucytosine, were sequenced to illustrate the methodology. Susceptibility profiles of the isolates correlated with presence or absence of specific mutation patterns in genes.

Multiplexed Immunofluorescence Assay for Spatial Assessment of Senescence Markers in vivo

2026

Multiplexed immunofluorescence enables sequential labeling of multiple antibody markers within a single tissue section to support spatial analysis of tissue architecture and cell populations. Here, a workflow for multiplex detection of senescence-associated, structural, and immune markers is presented, including manual and automated slide preparation, iterative imaging, and single-cell analysis using digital pathology software.

Here, we report a simple and low-cost silver staining protocol which requires only three reagents and 7 min of processing, and is suitable for fast generation of high-quality SSR data in the genetic analysis.

Duplex Digital PCR for Simultaneous Quantification of Dual Genetic Markers

2025

In this video, we demonstrate the duplex digital PCR (ddPCR) technique — a modification of the traditional PCR technique that is useful in detecting two different genetic markers simultaneously. A single PCR reaction is partitioned into nanoliter-sized emulsified droplets that are independently amplified, and the detection of differently colored fluorescence amplification signals from the fraction of droplets is used to compute the initial concentration of the target sequences.
