Julien Cayron is a PhD student at CNRS in the Cell-to-cell DNA transfer team at the department of Molecular Microbiology and Structural Biochemistry (MMSB, University of Lyon, France). He is a molecular microbiologist interested in the bacterial cell cycle, DNA dynamics and response to stress. His publications are covering a variety of topics in the field. He has developed an expertise in live-cell microscopy, bacterial genetics and microbiology. Recently, he has contributed to understand the role of multidrug efflux pump in the dissemination of antibiotic resistance by horizontal gene transfer.
