Biography

Wei Sun is an Associate Professor in the institute of Chinese Materia Medica,China academy of Chinese Medical Sciences, Beijing,China. He obtained his undergraduate from Huaibei Normal University, Huaibei, a Master degree from Anhui University, Hefei and a Ph.D. from the South Botanical Garden, Guangzhou. His research interest is pharmaceutical compounds from Chinese herb synthesis and regulation, and molecular identification of herbs using DNA barcoding technology. He developed tartary buckwheat as model species to investigate flavnoid and emodin biosynthesis. In addition, He utilize genomic and metabolomic tool to discover important metabolite pathway from Androgaphsis paniculata, Aesculus chinensis and Chrysanthemum morifolium.
