Crystal K. Colón Ortiz

Research Associate in the Surgery Department, University of Miami, Florida. She is Bachelor's degree in Science in Medical Laboratory Technology, from Universidad Central of Venezuela. She has background and expertise in molecular and cell biology have given her the advantage of contributing to treatment strategies for vascular diseases. She was recruited in 2019 by Dr. Zhao Jun Liu and Dr. Omaida Velazquez, for a Research Associate position, She works on several projects, including the development of gene- therapy and cell therapy for limb ischemia and wound healing. She also works on the targeted delivery of therapeutic cells to plaque lesions in the aorta for treating atherosclerosis.
