Nanoparticle Production

Nanoparticle production is the controlled fabrication of materials with dimensions typically between 1 and 100 nanometers, where size, shape, surface chemistry, and composition strongly influence behavior. It commonly uses bottom-up processes, in which atoms, ions, or molecules undergo nucleation and growth, or top-down methods that break larger materials into nanoscale structures; reaction conditions and stabilizing agents help limit aggregation and tune particle properties. In biochemistry, these particles support drug and biomolecule delivery, biosensing, imaging, and catalytic studies by presenting high surface area and modifiable interfaces. Reliable production and characterization are therefore essential for linking nanoscale structure to biological function and experimental performance.

A Protocol for the Production of Gliadin-cyanoacrylate Nanoparticles for Hydrophilic Coating

2016

This article presents a protocol for the production of protein-based nanoparticles that changes the hydrophobic surface to hydrophilic. The produced nanoparticle is an assembly of gliadin-cyanoacrylate diblock copolymers. Spray coating with the produced nanoparticle changes the surface of target material to a hydrophilic surface.
