M2 Antibody Staining

M2 antibody staining is an immunological method for detecting the influenza A virus M2 protein in infected cells or tissue, helping researchers assess viral protein expression and infection. The procedure typically fixes and permeabilizes samples, applies a primary antibody that binds the M2 antigen, and uses a labeled secondary antibody to produce a fluorescent or enzymatic signal for microscopy or other analyses. This technique supports studies of viral replication, intracellular protein localization, and host responses to infection. By revealing where and when M2 appears, antibody staining can help evaluate infection models and investigate antiviral treatments or immune mechanisms.
