Streptavidin Reporter

A streptavidin reporter is a detection reagent in which streptavidin is linked to an enzyme, fluorophore, or other signal-producing label, enabling sensitive visualization of biotinylated targets in immunology and infection studies. It works through the exceptionally strong, specific binding between streptavidin and biotin, allowing a labeled reporter to attach to biotinylated antibodies, antigens, nucleic acid probes, or other assay components. This interaction supports signal amplification and flexible assay design in methods such as ELISA, immunofluorescence, flow cytometry, and pathogen detection assays, helping researchers identify immune responses, characterize infectious agents, and measure biomolecular targets.

Source: Pohl, M. O. & Stertz, S. Measuring Attachment and Internalization of Influenza A Virus in A549 Cells by Flow Cytometry. J. Vis. Exp. (2015)This video demonstrates the use of a streptavidin blocking assay to distinguish surface-bound from internalized influenza virus in human lung epithelial cells. Comparing fluorescence signals shows that a higher intensity after incubation indicates successful viral internalization.

ELISA-Based Reporter Assay to Study the Receptor-Ligand Interaction in BW Cells

This video demonstrates the reporter assay-based detection of the receptor-ligand interaction. The successful receptor-ligand interaction activates the downstream signaling pathway, causing the generation and release of cytokines as secretory reporter molecules in the solution, which is confirmed using ELISA.

Data Reporting and Recording

2023

Reporting and recording are crucial in data documentation. The timely, thorough, and accurate documentation of facts is essential when recording patient data. Failure to record findings during an assessment or interpretation of a problem will result in loss of information and make the patient document unreliable. The reader is left with general impressions if the information is not specific. A recording is documenting data of the individual's health information in a traceable, secure, and...

A Lentiviral Transcriptional Reporter System to Generate a Glioblastoma Stem Cell Differentiation Reporter Line

2025

This video demonstrates a technique to generate a glioblastoma stem cell reporter line to identify the differentiation of glioblastoma stem cells (GSCs) into astroglia. It outlines the steps involved in seeding GSCs, transducing them with a lentivirus encoding GFP, and determining GFP reporter expression through flow cytometry.
