Laparoscopic Sealing Device

A laparoscopic sealing device is a minimally invasive surgical instrument that closes blood vessels or tissue bundles through small abdominal incisions, helping control bleeding and reduce the need for sutures or clips. During use, the device applies pressure and controlled energy, commonly bipolar electrical or ultrasonic energy, to denature collagen and elastin and form a durable tissue seal; some models can divide the sealed tissue. These instruments support procedures such as laparoscopic gynecologic, gastrointestinal, and general surgery by improving hemostasis, reducing instrument exchanges, and shortening operative steps. Their effectiveness depends on appropriate tissue selection, jaw placement, and energy control.
