Massage Techniques

Massage techniques are hands-on methods that manipulate the body’s soft tissues to support relaxation, comfort, and physical function, making them relevant to both wellness and clinical care. Practitioners apply controlled pressure, stroking, kneading, or movement to muscles and connective tissues, with effects influenced by technique, treatment intensity, and the individual’s condition. In medicine, massage may complement rehabilitation and supportive care by helping address muscle tension, discomfort, limited mobility, or stress. Understanding tissue response, patient needs, and appropriate contraindications is essential for selecting techniques safely and integrating them into evidence-informed treatment plans.
