Slice-o-matic Software

Slice-o-matic Software is a medical image analysis platform used to visualize, segment, and quantify anatomical structures in cross-sectional datasets such as CT and MRI scans. It works by displaying serial image slices and allowing users to delineate regions of interest with manual or assisted segmentation tools, then reconstructing labeled regions into three-dimensional models for measurement and analysis. In medicine, this workflow supports assessment of tissue volumes, body composition, tumors, and other structures, helping researchers and clinicians convert complex imaging data into reproducible quantitative results. Its interactive approach also supports annotation, comparison, and preparation of datasets for clinical or biomedical research.

Segmentation and linear measurements quantify skeletal muscle mass and adipose tissues using Computed Tomography and/or Magnetic Resonance Imaging images. Here, we outline the use of Slice-O-Matic software and Horos image viewer for rapid and accurate analysis of body composition. These methods can provide important information for prognosis and risk stratification.

Neural control and cognitive processes can be studied through eye movements. The VisualEyes software allows an operator to program stimuli on two computer screens independently using a simple, custom scripting language. The system can stimulate tandem eye movements (saccades and smooth pursuit) or opposing eye movements (vergence) or any combination.
