Axillary Temperature

Axillary temperature is a measurement of body temperature taken from the armpit, offering a noninvasive and practical approach to clinical assessment. A thermometer detects heat at the skin over the axillary region, where readings can be influenced by placement, contact, ambient conditions, and local blood flow, so results may differ from core temperature measurements. Clinicians use axillary temperature screening in infants, children, and patients who may not tolerate oral or rectal measurement. Although convenient and safer in some situations, axillary readings require careful technique and clinical interpretation, particularly when monitoring fever or suspected infection.

2026

This study describes a standardized surgical procedure for single-port endoscopic axillary lymph node dissection without liposuction in breast cancer. Indicated for patients with biopsy-confirmed nodal metastasis or positive sentinel lymph nodes, the technique emphasizes preservation of critical structures, particularly the intercostobrachial nerve, to reduce postoperative morbidity and optimize functional recovery.

Chemical Kinetics The reaction rate is the speed at which a chemical reaction occurs. The reaction rate is defined as the change in concentration of a component in the reaction with time. The speed of a reaction depends on several factors, including the concentration of reactants and the temperature at which the reaction is performed. Each reactant contributes to the speed of the reaction by a specific factor. This relationship is defined by the reaction rate law. Rate Law The rate law is an...

Source: Smaa Koraym at Johns Hopkins University, MD, USA Temperature Dependent Decomposition of Hydrogen PeroxideExpand We suggest that students work in pairs for this experiment. Equipment controls may vary. In this lab, you'll perform a decomposition reaction where a single compound breaks down into two or more simpler products. You will observe the decomposition of hydrogen peroxide into water and oxygen. This decomposition happens very slowly, so you will use iron (III) nitrate as a...
