Post-procedure Monitoring

Post-procedure monitoring is the systematic assessment of a patient after an intervention to confirm recovery and detect complications early. Clinicians track vital signs, airway and breathing, level of consciousness, pain, bleeding, and procedure-specific findings at intervals suited to the intervention and patient. Changes from baseline can signal hypoxia, hemodynamic instability, adverse drug effects, or infection, prompting reassessment and timely escalation of care. In clinical practice, this process supports safe transfer from procedural areas, guides discharge decisions and follow-up, and provides structured data for quality improvement and evaluation of recovery.
