Node Voltage

Node voltage is the electric potential difference between a circuit node and a chosen reference node, providing a systematic way to analyze complex electrical networks. In node-voltage analysis, the reference node is assigned zero volts, unknown node voltages are defined relative to it, and Kirchhoff’s current law is applied by expressing each branch current through Ohm’s law; the resulting simultaneous equations may include independent and dependent sources. This method determines currents, voltage drops, and power throughout circuits with multiple branches, often reducing analysis compared with mesh methods. It supports the design, troubleshooting, and simulation of analog, digital, and power-engineering systems.

Source: Richard Glickman-Simon, MD, Assistant Professor, Department of Public Health and Community Medicine, Tufts University School of Medicine, MA The lymphatic system has two main functions: to return extracellular fluid back to the venous circulation and to expose antigenic substances to the immune system. As the collected fluid passes through lymphatic channels on its way back to the systemic circulation, it encounters multiple nodes consisting of highly concentrated clusters of...

Generation of lymph node/fat pad chimeras for the study of lymph node stromal cell origin is described. The method involves the isolation of lymph nodes from newborn mice and embryonic fat pads, the generation of chimeric lymph node-fat pads, and their transfer under the kidney capsule of a host mouse.

A technique for performing intravital microscopy of the inguinal lymph node (LN) is outlined. Such technique allows for real-time, in vivo study of the lymph node microvasculature and structure both during homeostasis and infection. This technique can be adapted to cell trafficking studies and to other lymph node sites.
