Pdms Material Properties

PDMS material properties describe the physical, chemical, mechanical, and surface characteristics of polydimethylsiloxane, a flexible silicone elastomer widely used in engineering. Its crosslinked polymer network gives PDMS low stiffness, high elasticity, optical transparency, low surface energy, and gas permeability, while curing conditions can adjust its elastic modulus and other performance characteristics. These properties support soft lithography, rapid prototyping, microfluidic device fabrication, and flexible sensors, where conformal contact and low-cost processing are important. Understanding how crosslink density, temperature, loading, and surface treatment affect behavior helps engineers design reliable devices and evaluate PDMS for applications involving deformation, fluid transport, or biological interfaces.

2013

Organic photovoltaic (OPV) materials are inherently inhomogeneous at the nanometer scale. Nanoscale inhomogeneity of OPV materials affects performance of photovoltaic devices. In this paper, we describe a protocol for quantitative measurements of electrical and mechanical properties of OPV materials with sub-100 nm resolution.
