Zero Order Hold

A zero-order hold is a signal-processing and control-system device that converts discrete-time samples into a continuous-time signal by maintaining each sample value until the next one arrives. It operates by sampling an input at fixed intervals, storing the sampled value, and producing a piecewise-constant output that changes only at the sampling instants. This process provides the interface between digital controllers or computers and continuous physical systems, including motors, sensors, and industrial processes. In engineering analysis, the zero-order hold model supports discrete-time system design, digital-to-analog conversion, and prediction of effects such as delay and amplitude distortion on system stability and performance.

Shrinkage, Obsolescence, and Holding Costs

2025

In inventory-based businesses, profitability often depends on more than just sales volume or procurement efficiency. Hidden costs tied to inventory management—specifically shrinkage, obsolescence, and holding costs—can significantly erode margins if left unmanaged.Shrinkage occurs when inventory is lost due to theft, damage, or administrative errors. Even with advanced tracking systems, discrepancies remain a persistent issue, especially in retail. Regular audits, employee training, and...

Here, we test the dissolution of Rhodiola granules (RG) in vitro, draw dissolution curves of salidroside, gallic acid, and ethyl gallate in ultrapure water, and fit the curves to different mathematical models. This protocol provides information and guidance for in vivo bioequivalence and in vivo-in vitro correlation studies of RG.
