Culturally Informed Protocol

A culturally informed protocol is a structured approach to medical care that incorporates a patient’s cultural values, beliefs, language, communication practices, and social context into clinical decision-making. It works by combining standard medical assessment with respectful inquiry, culturally responsive communication, and shared planning, helping clinicians identify how cultural factors may influence symptoms, treatment preferences, consent, and adherence. In medicine, these protocols can strengthen trust, reduce misunderstandings, and support more equitable care across diverse communities. They are relevant to clinical interviews, diagnosis, health education, treatment planning, and public health programs, while complementing evidence-based practice rather than replacing clinical judgment.

Informational connectivity measures the correspondence between time courses of multi-voxel information across different brain regions. Multi-voxel pattern discriminability time series are extracted from regions and compared, revealing networks that are not identified in a typical functional connectivity approach.

Slice cultures facilitate the manipulation of embryo development by gene and pharmacological perturbations. However, culture conditions must ensure that normal development can proceed within the reduced environment of the slice. We illustrate a protocol that facilitates normal spinal cord development to proceed for at least 24 hr.
