Surgical Correction Technique

A surgical correction technique is an operative method used to repair an anatomical abnormality, restore impaired function, or improve a structural problem when nonsurgical care is insufficient. The procedure typically involves accessing the affected tissue, removing, repositioning, reshaping, or reconstructing structures, and securing them to support healing and functional recovery. In medicine, surgical correction techniques guide the treatment of congenital defects, injuries, deformities, and disease-related changes. Their selection depends on the underlying condition, anatomy, clinical goals, and expected risks, while careful planning and postoperative monitoring help optimize outcomes and reduce complications.

2025

This study presents a novel surgical technique for implanting a biomimetic artificial intervertebral disc (BioAID). The method ensures precise placement and stability, aiming to restore cervical spine function using a goat model. This technique shows promise for clinical application in both human and canine patients suffering from cervical spine myelopathy.

Distance Corrections

2025

To achieve precise distance measurements, especially in surveying and construction, certain corrections must be applied to account for potential sources of error like the standardization errors, temperature variations, and slope adjustments.Standardization error emerges when measurement equipment undergoes changes, such as wear, repairs, or weather impacts. To address this, surveyors compare the equipment’s readings to a standard. This process identifies any deviation that might lead to...

A Standardized Surgical Technique for Tessier Medial Transnasal Canthopexy

Medial canthopexy allows correction of the position and fixation of the medial canthal tendon. Due to the technical difficulties of this procedure, there is a need for a detailed protocol for educational purposes. Here, we describe a standardized reproducible technique for bilateral medial transnasal canthopexy by an orbitonasal approach.

Power Factor Correction

The power transmission to a factory involves the transfer of apparent power, a combination of active and reactive power. The power factor measures how effectively electrical power is converted into useful work output. The ratio of the real power (KW) that does the work to the apparent power (KVA) supplied to the circuit. A poor power factor means the inductive electrical load absorbs more reactive power, causing a low lagging power factor. This results in large voltage drops across the load...
