T Cell-endothelial Cell Interaction

T cell-endothelial cell interaction is the regulated communication between migrating immune T cells and vascular endothelial cells that controls immune surveillance and tissue entry. It begins when endothelial selectins and chemokines capture and activate circulating T cells, followed by integrin-mediated firm adhesion and passage through the endothelial barrier, a process called transendothelial migration. In neuroscience, these interactions are central to immune-cell trafficking across the blood-brain barrier during neuroinflammation, infection, and autoimmune disease. Studying the molecular signals and junctional changes involved can clarify how T cells enter the central nervous system and support research into multiple sclerosis, brain injury, and targeted anti-inflammatory therapies.

A Laminar Flow-Based Assay to Study the Interactions Between Leukocytes and Endothelial Cells

2025

This video demonstrates a laminar flow-based assay to characterize the interaction of leukocytes and cellular partners such as endothelial cells. This method provides dynamic insights into adhesion, deadhesion, and transmigration of leukocytes when perfused over an intact and confluent layer of vascular cells.

In this video, we demonstrate the real-time visualization of blood cell-endothelial interactions in the mesenterial veins of a mouse model injected intraperitoneally with lipopolysaccharide.

Studying Interactions between Myeloid Cells and CAR T Cells In Vitro and In Vivo

Given the limited xenograft models available to study interactions between human CART and myeloid cells, we established in vitro and in vivo models to understand the impacts of human macrophages on CART cells. Findings can potentially be generalized to evaluate macrophage roles in the tumor microenvironment and test macrophage-targeted immunotherapies.
