Medical Diagnostic

Medical diagnostics is the use of tests, measurements, and imaging methods to detect, characterize, and monitor disease or injury. In physics-based diagnostics, measurable interactions such as the absorption of X-rays, the response of atomic nuclei to magnetic fields, or the reflection of sound waves are converted into signals and images that reveal internal structure and function. Techniques including radiography, magnetic resonance imaging, ultrasound, and nuclear medicine support noninvasive examination of the body. These methods help clinicians identify abnormalities, guide treatment, and track disease progression, while ongoing advances in detector design, image reconstruction, and quantitative analysis improve diagnostic accuracy and expand research applications.
