Mindfulness Meditation

Mindfulness meditation is a contemplative practice that trains attention and nonjudgmental awareness of present-moment experiences, making it an important subject in psychology and behavioral health research. Practitioners typically focus on sensations of breathing, bodily states, thoughts, or emotions, notice when attention wanders, and gently redirect it without trying to suppress or evaluate the experience. In psychology, this process helps researchers examine attention, emotion regulation, self-awareness, and the relationship between mental states and behavior. Mindfulness-based interventions apply these principles in clinical and educational settings to support stress management, psychological well-being, and adaptive responses to challenging experiences.
