Molar Restoration

Molar restoration is the repair or replacement of damaged tooth structure in a molar to restore its shape, strength, and function during chewing. Treatment removes diseased or weakened tissue, prepares the remaining tooth, and uses restorative biomaterials such as resin composite, amalgam, ceramic, or dental alloy; these materials are bonded, packed, or cemented to the tooth and shaped to distribute occlusal forces. In bioengineering, molar restoration provides a practical context for designing materials that resist wear, fracture, moisture, and bacterial leakage while remaining compatible with oral tissues. Improved restorations can extend tooth service life and support minimally invasive, patient-specific dental care.

Molar Mass

The identity of a substance is defined not only by the types of atoms or ions it contains but by the quantity of each type of atom or ion. For example, water, H2O, and hydrogen peroxide, H2O2, are alike in that their respective molecules are composed of hydrogen and oxygen atoms. However, because a hydrogen peroxide molecule contains two oxygen atoms, as opposed to the water molecule, which has only one, the two substances exhibit very different properties. Atoms and molecules are extremely...

Restorative care is provided once a patient has been discharged from a healthcare facility and requires additional services. The additional services include home care, rehabilitation programs, and extended care. Restorative care centers help the patient regain their previous level of functioning or acquire a new level of functioning due to the incapacitating effects of a disease or a disability. It aims to assist patients in enhancing their quality of life by encouraging independence,...

Determination of Molar Masses of Polymers II

2026

Polymer samples typically consist of macromolecular chains with a distribution of lengths, resulting in a range of molar masses rather than a single discrete value. Conventional descriptors such as the number-average molar mass and weight-average molar mass quantify this distribution but do not fully capture polymer behavior in solution..The viscosity-average molar mass provides a more realistic description of polymer behavior in solution because it accounts for the enhanced contribution of...

Determination of Molar Masses of Polymers I

Polymerization produces macromolecules with a range of chain lengths due to the random nature of molecular growth processes. As chains form and terminate at different stages, a single polymer sample contains molecules of varying sizes rather than a uniform structure. This variability is described using average molar masses and distribution-related parameters, which together provide a comprehensive understanding of polymer characteristics. The distribution of molar masses plays a critical role in...
