Chloroform Nanoparticle Isolation

Chloroform nanoparticle isolation is a chemistry method that separates and concentrates nanoparticles from a mixture by exploiting chloroform’s organic-solvent properties and density. In practice, chloroform selectively dissolves compatible hydrophobic components, while differences in solubility, phase behavior, and particle density allow nanoparticles to be recovered through solvent partitioning, precipitation, centrifugation, or related separation steps. The isolated material can then be washed, dried, and characterized to assess particle size, composition, morphology, and surface chemistry. This approach supports the preparation of cleaner nanoparticle samples for chemical analysis, materials research, formulation studies, and investigations of how particle properties influence dispersion and reactivity.
