Net Area

Net area is the signed area between a graph and a reference axis, representing the total contribution of regions above and below that axis in mathematics. It is calculated by integrating a function over an interval: areas where the function is positive add to the result, while areas where it is negative subtract, so the function’s zeros often divide the interval into separate regions. Net area provides a foundation for interpreting definite integrals and distinguishes overall accumulation from total geometric area. In applications, it can model displacement from velocity, net change in quantities, and balances in physical or economic systems.

The integration of conductive nanoparticles, such as graphene nanoplatelets, into glass fiber composite materials creates an intrinsic electrical network susceptible to strain. Here, different methods to obtain strain sensors based on the addition of graphene nanoplatelets into the epoxy matrix or as a coating on glass fabrics are proposed.
