Global Acne Grading

Global Acne Grading is a standardized clinical method for measuring acne severity across the face and trunk, supporting consistent assessment and comparison in medical practice and research. The Global Acne Grading System divides the skin into six regions, assigns each region a location-based factor, and scores the most severe lesion type present, from no lesions to inflammatory nodules. Multiplying the lesion score by the regional factor produces local scores that are summed into an overall grade. This structured approach helps clinicians monitor treatment response, communicate severity, and evaluate outcomes in acne studies.

Acne Infection

2026

Acne is a multifactorial skin condition primarily affecting adolescents and young adults, with a global prevalence estimated to exceed 75% in this demographic. The condition is characterized by the formation of comedones (blackheads and whiteheads), papules, pustules, nodules, and, in severe cases, cysts, particularly in areas rich in sebaceous glands such as the face, neck, chest, and back. The pathogenesis involves increased sebum production, follicular hyperkeratinization, colonization by...

Graded Potential

2025

Graded potentials are localized fluctuations in the cell membrane's electrical charge, commonly found in the dendrites of neurons. The magnitude of these potential changes depends on the strength of the initiating stimulus. In a membrane at its resting potential, a graded potential signifies a voltage shift either above -70 mV or below -70 mV. Graded potentials fall into two categories: depolarizing and hyperpolarizing. Depolarizing graded potentials typically occur when sodium (Na+) or calcium...

Types of Aggregate Grading

Aggregate grading is crucial in economically obtaining a concrete mix with adequate strength, reasonable workability, and minimal segregation. There are four types of aggregate gradation: well-graded, uniformly (or one-sized) graded, gap-graded, and open-graded. Well-graded aggregates include a complete range of necessary size fractions that fit together to create a dense matrix with minimal voids, represented by a smooth, continuous gradation curve. This type of grading ensures good...

Co-culturing Glutamatergic Neurons and Pediatric High-Grade Glioma Cells

2025

This video showcases a technique for co-culturing glutamatergic neurons and pediatric high-grade glioma (pHGG) cells within a microfluidic device. Human induced pluripotent stem cells are introduced into the microfluidic system and incubated to promote their differentiation into mature cortical glutamatergic neurons. Following this, the pHGG cells are introduced onto the mature neurons, establishing a co-culture and enabling interactions between neurons and pHGG cells.
