Herbal Preparation

Herbal preparation refers to medicinal products made by processing plant materials into forms such as teas, powders, tinctures, decoctions, or extracts, and it remains important in traditional, complementary, and pharmaceutical medicine. Preparation methods determine which bioactive constituents are released, concentrated, or preserved, while factors such as solvent, temperature, extraction time, and plant part influence composition, potency, and stability. In medicine, herbal preparations support the study and use of plant-derived therapies, but their effects can vary with species, processing, dosage, and quality control. Standardized production and evaluation help assess therapeutic value, contamination, toxicity, and possible interactions with conventional drugs.
