Portable Dark Room

A portable dark room is a lightproof, transportable workspace that permits photographic materials, including medical X-ray film, to be handled and processed outside a permanent imaging facility. Its opaque enclosure blocks ambient light, while built-in arm openings, a safelight, and processing chemicals allow film development without exposing the image. In medicine, portable dark rooms support radiography in mobile clinics, emergency settings, field hospitals, and locations with limited infrastructure. By enabling diagnostic images to be processed close to the patient, they can shorten turnaround times and extend imaging services where conventional darkrooms or digital systems are unavailable.

Person perception is influenced by both external behaviors and the observer’s internal characteristics, including personality traits. Individuals with dark personality traits, comprising psychopathy, Machiavellianism, and narcissism — collectively known as the dark triad – exhibit manipulative and exploitative tendencies in social contexts. These traits affect how they perceive others and how they are perceived. The Role of Dark Personality Traits in Person PerceptionBlack et al. (2014) explored...

A reliable home-based way to assess the language comprehension of very young typically developing children, as well as those with autism, is described. The method analyzes children's eye gaze while viewing side-by-side images but hearing an audio that matches only one image. Stimuli are designed with young participants in mind.

Here, we present a protocol to perform portable cellular aerosol exposures and measure cellular response. The method uses cells, grown at the air-liquid interface, mimicking in vivo physiology. Cellular response to copper nanoparticle aerosols was observed as oxidative stress through reactive oxygen species generation and cytotoxicity as lactate dehydrogenase release.
