Force Measuring Device

A force measuring device is an instrument that quantifies push, pull, tension, compression, or other mechanical loads, providing a basis for studying how physical forces influence biological systems. Most devices use a calibrated transducer, such as a strain gauge or piezoelectric element, that converts force-induced deformation or electrical changes into a measurable signal. In neuroscience, force measuring devices help assess muscle tension, grip strength, tactile responses, and forces generated by neurons or supporting cells. These measurements connect mechanical behavior with neural function and can support research on motor control, sensory processing, neuromuscular disorders, and mechanobiology.
