Post-injection Recovery

Post-injection recovery is the period in which an organism returns toward its physiological and behavioral baseline after a substance has been administered, making it an important part of neuroscience research and animal care. During this phase, the injected material is distributed, metabolized, or cleared while local tissue responses, inflammation, and possible effects on neural activity gradually resolve. Researchers monitor behavior, movement, neurological signs, and general health to identify complications and determine when normal testing can resume. Careful recovery procedures support animal welfare, improve experimental consistency, and help distinguish treatment effects from temporary responses to injection, anesthesia, or handling.

In this article we will describe the procedure for measuring diffusion coefficients using multi-photon fluorescence recovery after photobleaching. We will begin by aligning the laser along the optical path to the sample and determining the proper experimental parameters, then continue generating and finally fitting fluorescence recovery curves.
