No Work

No Work in physics describes a situation in which a force produces no mechanical energy transfer through displacement, making the concept essential for distinguishing force from work. When an object does not move, or when the force acts perpendicular to the displacement, the work is zero because W = Fd cos θ and cos 90° = 0. In mechanics, this principle explains why a stationary support force can do no work and why centripetal force changes an object's direction during circular motion without changing its speed; it also provides a foundation for analyzing energy transfer in physical systems.
